It's Australia Day so it seems only fitting that this is the day  that I upload a pair of waterproof cycling pants inspired by Thai fishermen pants and made from an old Australian favourite, oilskin. The precedent for oilskin wet weather gear is, of course, RM Williams an Australian company that was established in 1932. Ironically, as it would seem, they made their name and their fortune by re-imagining the craft of bush saddlery and stockmen's accessories. This phrase "fail early, fail often" seems to have become particularly popular since the advent of social media.
